SEAVEA Hackathon: 1, 4-5 December 2023

We are delighted to invite you to participate in the upcoming fifth SEAVEA Hackathon, scheduled to take place on 1st and 4-5th December 2023. The three-day Hackathon will be a fully hybrid event hosted at the SRSCR room, Ground floor, Christopher Ingold Building, Department of Chemistry, University College London, 20 Gordon St, London WC1H 0AJ.

The Hackathon will focus on the SEAVEA toolkit (SEAVEAtk), which is dedicated to Verification, Validation and Uncertainty Quantification (VVUQ) for High-Performance Computing (HPC) simulations. Specifically, our toolkit provides a variety range of tools:

  • To create VVUQ procedures (EasyVVUQ),
  • To automate the complex workflows emerging from these procedures using HPC resources (FabSim3),
  • To enable the efficient execution of large numbers of jobs on computational resources (QCG Pilot Job Manager and RADICAL Cybertools),
  • To facilitate the creation of surrogate models for multiscale simulations (EasySurrogate),
  • To perform surrogate modelling using Gaussian Processes (MOGP),
  • To make creating coupled multiscale simulations easy, and to then enable efficient UQ of such models using advanced semi-intrusive algorithms (MUSCLE3).

The event will offer an opportunity to work with the latest release of SEAVEAtk, which facilitates VVUQ for applications irrespective of your source domain. It will also allow you to interact with our SEAVEAtk experts, who will help you apply your choice of SEAVEAtk components on your own codes and applications. And if you already are a SEAVEAtk user, then we will have support on hand to help you add more rigorous VVUQ to your application.
